Department Overview

The Wildfire Safety Compliance Team is part of the Electric Operations Regulatory Compliance organization, where our vision is that together we will create a compliance culture that supports and exceeds our regulator's expectations for safety, reliability, and customer expectations.The main functions of this department are to ensure that we remain in compliance with our state and federal requirements.

The Wildfire Safety Compliance Team is primarily responsible for responding to data requests from the Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (OEIS) and inquiries from CAL FIRE. The Wildfire Safety Compliance Team also serves as the primary liaison with the Independent Evaluator and responds to Notice of Violations, Notice of Defects, Wildfire Safety Concerns, and customer complaints for either Energy Safety and/or CAL FIRE.

Summary

Manages aspects of program implementation and daily operations; ensures program is operating effectively. Responsibilities typically include some or most of the following in support of Program Management to ensure attainment of program metrics/objectives. overseeing collaboration with agencies such as CPUC and OEIS and guiding cross-functional teams to turn compliance into action. With a sharp focus on performance, accountability, and collaboration, you position PG&E as a leader in wildfire risk mitigation and regulatory performance.

  • Managing relationships with and providing direction to vendors.Developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts.
  • Developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.
  • Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators.
  • Identifying stakeholders and communicating within and outside of PG&E.Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures.
  • Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.

Disclosure

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of thejob posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, and geographic location.

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate inPG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Pay Range

  • Minimum: $144,00
  • Midpoint: $194,00
  • Maximum: $244,00

Responsibilities

  • Applies depth and breadth of knowledge of Program Management to the most unique and complex problems. Works autonomously. Anticipates issues and develops innovative solutions. Demonstrates program leadership with internal & external stakeholders to support company goals. May design and develop new, complex programs.Recognized subject matter expert who may represent PG&E to external agencies on sensitive or complex issues. Partners with Government Relations or other partner organizations in developing messaging and strategy.
  • Manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives; may lead initiatives that impact utility or industry developments.Manages all aspects of programs that are cross functional, complex, of broad scope and have a significant financial or political impact on the line of business. Leads development of overall strategy to achieve program goals.
  • Partners with leadership to determine most appropriate and effective program performance metrics. Develops content and format for reports and dashboards. Prepares and presents regular updates to senior management, addressing issues and gaining buy in on solutions.Partners with cross-functional teams plan and forecast short- and long-term work to be completed as part of the annual program initiatives. Monitors and ensures closure/completion of projects and/or other program work orders. Ensures effective work scheduling and resources will be available to meet the work plan. Develop creative solutions to address resource issues.
  • Develop communication and training plans. Ensures target audience is fully educated and adheres to program policies, processes, procedures. Ensures regulatory compliance with the program.Coaches and mentors are less experienced employees.Identifying trends and focus areas based on asset classes, regions, etc.May manage major cross functional projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company goals.Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across organizations to ensure alignment of goals to support program.Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals.
  • Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory and/or industry decisions.Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership, other utilities with similar programs, industry, and/or regulatory decision makers to influence marketplace and regulatory strategies impacting PG&E and its customers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent

Desired

  • PMP Certification
  • Advanced degree in business, engineering, science.
  • Excellent program and project management experience.
  • In depth knowledge of electric utility processes, regulatory requirements, critical success factors, goals, and initiatives.
  • Advanced financial management & budgeting skills and business acumen
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering principles, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the industry and PG&E.
  • Expertise in communication, interpersonal/collaboration influence and negotiation and process management.
  • Broad knowledge of project management, process improvement, best practices, concepts, methods, and techniques.
  • Advanced presentation skills to effectively convey complex issues to internal and external parties of various levels. May need knowledge of various enterprise resource planning (ERP) system modules
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills.
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
  • Ability to lead the largest, most complex projects across the line of business supported
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and industry drivers
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
