Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Wage: $30-$37/hour Shift: 1st, 2nd Hours: 7am-3:30pm, 3:30pm-12am We are seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to join a team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. These roles are essential to ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and supporting capital improvement projects. The ideal candidates will possess strong troubleshooting abilities and an engineering mindset, allowing them to contribute to both immediate production needs and long-term equipment enhancements. This is a direct hire opportunity in Ixonia, WI. Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and packaging equipment - Minimize downtime by addressing mechanical and electrical issues promptly - Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliable and efficient equipment performance - Collaborate with engineering and production teams to upgrade and improve existing equipment and processes - Install and commission new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards - Develop creative solutions to improve equipment performance and efficiency - Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, PLCs, and controls - Maintain mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated machinery - Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics - Work with production and quality teams to meet operational requirements - Assist in training operators and other team members on proper equipment use and maintenance - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes Maintenance Mechanic Requirements: - Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or food processing environment - Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems - Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus - Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated machinery - Ability to interpret technical documents and schematics - Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment - Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issues - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred - Relevant certifications in electrical or mechanical disciplines are beneficial - Flexibility to handle both immediate maintenance issues and long-term engineering projects - Strong communication and teamwork skills - Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment teresa.considine@qpsemployment.com IND103 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
