Biological Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences at Missouri University of Science and Technology invites applications for a non-tenure track, one-year renewable Professor of Practice position in physiology, neuroscience, endocrinology, or related areas of biomedical science.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate and upper-division undergraduate courses in physiology, neurobiology, endocrinology, or related disciplines
• Mentor graduate students and serve on dissertation committees
• Contribute to scholarly or externally funded research initiatives as appropriate
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary academic activities
• Teaching and research responsibilities will be assigned based on departmental needs and candidate expertise

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in physiology, neuroscience, endocrinology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated record of teaching eUectiveness at the undergraduate and/or graduate level

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring graduate students
• Established record of scholarly achievement
• Experience contributing to externally funded research
• Leadership or service experience in professional or academic settings

COLLEGE of ENGINEERING & COMPUTING (CEC)
Missouri S&T's College of Engineering and Computing is the largest of three colleges at S&T, accounting for approximately 80% of the total enrollment (about 4,500 undergraduates and 800 graduate students). The college includes more than 170 ranked faculty members who serve in 16 undergraduate programs, all with master's and doctoral equivalents organized into nine academic departments. The college recently added a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering and a Ph.D. in bioengineering, both starting in fall 2024.
