Job Description

The University of Missouri's Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Environmental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position with a strong emphasis on Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) and its integrated care pathways across the MICU, CICU, and advanced cardiopulmonary diagnostic services, including ECHO based evaluation.

Under the leadership of Dr. Hunter Hofmann, the division comprises more than twenty faculty members with extensive expertise in complex pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and advanced physiology. The incoming faculty member will play a key role in supporting the Pulmonary Hypertension Program, delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for this specialized population while collaborating closely with cardiology, the CICU team, and the diagnostic imaging service to optimize longitudinal PH management.

The position includes high acuity clinical responsibilities in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), participation in CICU and PH consultations, and involvement in ambulatory PH clinics. Responsibilities also include cross coverage within critical care services, night and weekend rotations, and clinical support across MU Health Care facilities as needed. Faculty contribute to sustaining continuous, safe ICU operations and support the institution's strategic goal of achieving Center of Excellence accreditation for its PH program.

The division hosts a fully accredited three year Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship with sixteen fellows, providing abundant opportunities for teaching, supervision, and scholarly activity. Faculty schedules intentionally include protected time for academic productivity and professional development, with additional opportunities to participate in or help expand the interventional pulmonology program.

This position offers a competitive academic salary, excellent university benefits-including an 8% retirement match, tuition assistance, and potential productivity incentives-and the resources of MU Health Care's six hospital system and more than fifty specialty and primary care clinics.

Located in Columbia, Missouri, the role provides an exceptional quality of life in a vibrant and rapidly growing community consistently ranked among the best places to live in the United States.
