Position Summary

Position Summary

The EHS Claims and Compliance Coordinator (Level 1) provides administrative and coordination support for workers' compensation claims, regulatory recordkeeping, medical surveillance scheduling, and EHS training documentation. This role focuses on accurate data entry, file maintenance, scheduling support, and routine compliance tracking. More complex claim matters, regulatory interpretation, and program oversight are managed by the Level 2 Specialist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Workers' Compensation and Claims Support



  • Receive and process initial injury reports and ensure required documentation is completed.
  • Assist with claim setup, file maintenance, and ongoing status tracking.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical claim files.
  • Coordinate routine communications with employees, supervisors, HR, and medical providers.
  • Support return-to-work activities by tracking medical restrictions, appointments, and related documentation.


Data Management and Reporting



  • Maintain centralized tracking systems for claims, injuries, training, and medical surveillance.
  • Enter, update, and verify data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare routine status reports and exception lists for EHS leadership and the Level 2 Specialist.
  • Identify missing documentation or overdue items and coordinate resolution.


Administrative and Program Support



  • Support document control for injury files, medical records, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with routine correspondence related to claims, medical scheduling, and compliance programs.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts related to recordkeeping and tracking systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



Working Relationships



  • Works closely with EHS, HR, supervisors, employees, occupational health providers, and insurance carriers for routine coordination.
  • Refers complex, high-risk, or escalated matters to the Level 2 Specialist or EHS leadership.
