THE POSITION

The position of Clerical Assistant offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a diverse array of visitors, enhancing their experience in this magnificent natural setting.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist the administrative assistant in overseeing the operations of the Park Office. Your responsibilities will include managing financial transactions from various sources, such as boat permits, camping fees, concession payments, and pool user fees, ensuring all funds are accurately accounted for. Daily activities will involve using the computerized reservation system to handle camping site bookings, including making, canceling, and modifying reservations, as well as producing reports and signage for visitors. You will also keep detailed records of revenue and reservations for camping, mooring, and pavilions. Additionally, you will prepare and submit reports to Harrisburg for Frances Slocum State Park, including monthly equipment and volunteer records, while ensuring the accuracy of automotive reports by checking mileage and fuel usage. Responding to public inquiries about the park will be part of your duties, providing information through various means as directed. Receptionist tasks will include welcoming visitors, offering general park information, and managing phone calls. Lastly, you will organize and maintain office files according to established guidelines, ensuring outdated materials are purged and older files are stored properly.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, until November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
  • Days/shifts will vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include holidays and weekends
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
