Security Officer - Armed Multiple Shifts

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Unit in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with calm professionalism. You will provide clear communication and customer service while supporting access control and reporting activities. This post requires an armed guard card or license, and it is ideal for those who value integrity, teamwork, and a caring culture.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and/or emergency response activities.
• Carry and operate authorized firearms and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, Allied Universal guidelines, and post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with law enforcement and/or government representatives as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials as required, document security-related activity in reports and logs, and notify supervision of notable conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
