Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed High-Rise Patrol in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to incidents and alarms, control access as needed, and document observations with clear communication and professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a government location by following post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities while assigned to an armed patrol post.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and coordinating with appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization as required, monitoring entry points, and reporting irregularities according to site procedures.
  • Complete accurate reports and logs, including patrol activity, incident documentation, and shift turnover communication, using required systems and/or forms.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
