Unit/Role Info:

Continuing Education

The Nurse Educator (Nursing Professional Development Specialist) assesses the educational needs of nursing staff for our critical care areas (ICU, Step-Down ICU, and Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology) and works closely with the management team to develop and implement programs to meet those needs. The RN/Educator is involved in all aspects of staff development, including orientation and continuing education, and serves as a resource to staff and managers regarding patient care standards for the ICU/SCU/IRCV. The Nurse Educator will adjust schedule as needed in order to provide supervision and guidance to new staff on off-shifts. Participates on multidisciplinary committees to complete projects/procedures that affect direct patient care. Participates in implementing strategic hospital and department initiatives.

Qualifications:



  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing required (BMSN) (Required).
  • Master's degree preferred. Qualified applicants can be placed in the position if they agree to complete an MSN; must apply to and be accepted into an MSN program within six months, with coursework to begin promptly after acceptance. Steady progress toward degree completion is defined as a minimum of 9 credits per calendar year from the time course work begins.
  • RN - Registered Nurse 10000068 Upon Hire (Required)
  • Specialty certification preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required. Critical Care and IRCV experience preferred
  • Experience in nursing/staff education preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 47.96/hour - Maximum 74.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
