Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, the Data & Business Intelligence Associate supports sourcing, manipulation, preparation, and validation of data for consumption-whether for production reports or analytical datasets used to answer descriptive questions such as "How do I measure?" and "What happened?". Responsibilities include basic querying, data mining, recurring reporting, and ad hoc requests. The role involves building basic reports, providing technical assistance, and contributing to analytical challenges. Success criteria include timely handling of requests, developing communication skills, business acumen, and critical thinking, and building relationships with peers and the broader team.

Essential Functions:

  • Pull basic data via simple queries and prepare data to support report production.
  • Provide recurring reporting and ad hoc requests, including simple analysis and documentation.
  • Develop basic visualizations and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Provide input on addressing basic analytical problems and challenges.
  • Observe trends and write rules & strategies to improve fraud risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with model partners to improve strategy performance.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with risk management and prioritization of risk and exposure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience in an analyst or similar role, familiarity with Fraud preferred.
  • Exposure to data integration and analytical programming.
  • Experience with basic project management.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must know Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Working knowledge of SAS or SQL (SAS preferred).
  • Beginner-to-intermediate database querying skills.
  • Understanding of data visualization and data mining techniques.

Soft Skills & Competencies:

  • Communication: Developing written and verbal skills; ability to organize information clearly; minimal PowerPoint skills.
  • Leadership: Able to work independently under general supervision.
  • Partnering/Influencing: Developing ability to build relationships and influence.
  • Business Acumen: Building understanding of business partner strategy and financial acumen.
  • Critical Thinking: Developing ability to analyze simple issues and escalate when needed.
  • Adaptability: Must demonstrate flexibility in changing environments.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Use of PC, phone, and other office equipment

Traveling and Driving Requirements:

  • Minimal travel may be required for training or project support
  • Valid driver's license may be necessary depending on location and role responsibilities.

Work Location Category:

  • Hybrid (2+ days in office)

As a result, this role may be mobile or home based, which means you may work either at a home office or in a Key facility to perform your job duties.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $56,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
