a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support the implementation of MDA quality and mission assurance requirements by (1) providing technical evaluations of Developer designs for subcomponents, assemblies, and integrated systems associated with MDA programs, (2) properly selecting Parts, Materials, and Processes to ensure MDA hardware used at all technology maturity levels can survive both natural and self-induced environments with adequate margins, (3) providing subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks associated with various aspects of the design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems, and (4) providing subject matter expertise to promote the reliability of MDA systems. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the THAAD Foreign Military Sales Quality Assurance team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations. Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
- Review and provide inputs to MDA developer Contractors, Subcontractors and Suppliers PMP Plans to ensure compliance to MDA PMAP and industry best practice.
- Review Non-Standard Parts Approval Requests (NSPARs) and Material and Process Approval Request (MPARs). Makes recommendations for disposition of technical data packages included in the requests. Prepares comprehensive NSPAR/MPAR reports.
- Prepare presentations that require PMP information, issues reporting, and recommendations.
- Assist with the preparation of briefings, technical risk analyses and assessments, and document the acceptance of risk.
- Provide assessment on the application of military, industry, and commercial parts, materials, and Processes (PMP) standards. Activities include managing the MDA's PMP Program.
- Attend and engage in assigned program and Product level PMP Control Board (PMPCB) meetings. Report results. Prepares evaluations and data packages.
- Experience in evaluating complex technical data, in conjunction with programmatic information, to develop PMP related positions and decisions.
- Experience in analysis of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and structural components and assemblies in the areas of electronic reliability and part application analyses to independently identify failures, research screening and qualification test plans, and recommend potential technical solutions of electronic components applications.
- Assist in the processing and maintenance of data stored in the "As Designed" Parts, Material and Processes List (ADPMPL). Prepares related reporting presentations, documents and support process/tool improvements.
- Analyze Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) notifications, MDA Alerts, Sibling Alerts, Notices of Escape, other process change notification alerts and associated program impact reports and prepares impact assessments.
- Apply expert knowledge in the detection and prevention of counterfeit parts and materials to include inspection techniques and test methods. Activities include ensuring that counterfeit parts avoidance requirements are met on MDA programs.
- Travel approximately once per quarter for up to 5 days duration per trip to support various review activities
- Position is located on Redstone Arsenal
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in professional engineering from a school of engineering Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), in Electrical Engineering or Materials Engineering
- 12+ years of relevant experience in EEE parts, and/or materials engineering
- Experience with design, application, selection, and/or testing of EEE parts
- Experience in parts and material product failures to include materials analysis equipment; metallurgy, galvanic couples, welding, surface treatments, castings and composites, and hazardous material replacements to ensure the MDS Program and suppliers conform to MDA Assurance Provisions for MDS testing.
- Experience in the application of military, industry, and commercial parts, materials, and Processes (PMP) standards.
- Experience in the detection and prevention methodologies for counterfeit parts and materials to include inspection techniques and test methods.
- Background in MDA, GMD, or DoD missile defense systems
- Current possess an active DOD secret security clearance or the ability to obtain prior to start
