About the position

Gulfstream Quality Organization's mission is to assure that delivered products demonstrate a level of quality consistent with design requirements, practical cost considerations, and compliance to applicable regulatory requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned projects, to ensure conformance to requirements
  • Technical data generation, construction, and analysis to identify opportunities of improvement for Quality process issues
  • Cross-Functional organization interaction required to support all internal organizations in problem solving efforts
  • Ensure quality policies are being practiced; provide recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality/standardization
  • Identify potential process improvements based on Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status based on work output, as required
  • Assistin the design and development of key metrics and dashboards to identify project effectiveness

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform one or more projects that require project planning, interaction with other organizations and people to coordinate closure of tasks necessary to complete project on schedule with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and accept challenges
  • Document business processes into Standard Operating Procedures
  • Have reliable transportation for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of 14-16weeks
  • Perform analysis of operations to identify quality, safety, and efficiency improvements
  • Assist in calculation of aircraft reliability performance metrics such as Failure Rates, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR) from reliability databases in support of internal and external customers
  • Share responsibility of developing and maintaining SharePoint websites and/or databases
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Aviation Sciences Engineering, Reliability, Quality or related technical discipline required
  • Prior aviation experience/knowledge preferred
  • General knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Methodology preferred
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite required (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with SharePoint, PowerBI, Visio, Catia, or similar applications preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
