Genesis10 is currently seeking a Release Manager for a 12-month contract role with our client in Eagan, MN. This role will be hybrid, working 2 days/week onsite.

Compensation: $90 - $105 per hour (W2), depending on skill and experience level.

Summary
The Release Manager plans, schedules, and controls the movement of software releases from development through test and into production environments. The Release Manager ensures reliable, repeatable, and low-risk delivery of software changes by coordinating across teams (Dev, QA/Test, Ops, Security, Product, and Release Engineering) and enforcing release standards and best practices.
This role is central to continuous delivery pipelines and supports the organization's operational excellence and deployment cadence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle from planning through deployment and post-release support.
  • Coordinate cross-functional release activities, including development, QA/testing, DevOps, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Define and enforce release processes, standards, and governance, ensuring compliance with change control policies.
  • Maintain an integrated release calendar and communicate scheduled releases, dependencies, risks, and constraints to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate release planning and readiness reviews, including release scope, risk assessments, test coverage, rollback criteria, and go/no-go decisions.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to support continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) and automated deployments.
  • Monitor release execution, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause analysis for release failures or incidents.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalation management during releases and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain release documentation (runbooks, deployment plans, environment configurations, change logs).
  • Drive continuous improvement of release and deployment processes and tools.
Typical Job Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
    (Master's or relevant certification is a plus)
Experience
  • 10 years of IT experience (software delivery, release coordination, DevOps, or project management)
  • 3 years in a release management or deployment coordination role, ideally in enterprise environments
  • Experience with healthcare required
  • Experience working in Agile environments required
Technical Skills
  • Release & Deployment Tools: They are an AWS and Java based environment
  • Configuration & Version Control: They are an AWS and Java based environment
  • Deployment Pipelines: Understanding of build automation, pipeline orchestration, artifact repositories
  • Environment Management: familiarity with development, test, staging, and production environments
  • Monitoring tools and dashboards for release health/metrics
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Resource will need to be able to execute in addition to lead. They do not want the resource who will just come up with strategy. Someone that will also drive and execute on this.
  • Ideally targeting a resource who demonstrates their growth through their career where they can relate to multiple levels in an organization.
  • Change management experience, will be working across the organization (vendors, contractors, employees, business partners) to build repeatable processes
  • A resource who will own mistakes.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent planning and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
  • Skilled in risk and issue escalation, problem resolution
  • Continuous improvement mindset
