Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Post - Full Time in Seattle, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help manage entry points at a busy industrial location by checking credentials, supporting badging processes, monitoring activity, and completing visible rounds. You will provide clear, respectful communication while documenting security-related observations and assisting employees, drivers, and visitors. This is a driving post, supporting mobile coverage and quick response across the site with agility, teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit at gates, turnstiles, and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, credentials, and authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers.
  • Screen and process visitors, issue temporary badges, maintain visitor logs, and communicate access requirements to the appropriate site contacts.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing vehicle traffic, confirm appointments and/or access status, direct drivers to designated areas, and document vehicle details as required.
  • Perform checks of packages, bags, and/or personal items when authorized by site policy, and report prohibited or suspicious items per post orders.
  • Operate access control systems, radios, telephones, and related equipment to support controlled access and incident reporting.
  • Monitor cameras and alarm or notification systems, and respond to alerts in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Complete shift reports, access logs, and incident documentation with clear, accurate details.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
