Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol - Full Time in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hotels & Resorts, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a hotel and resort location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet guests and staff with professionalism, communicate clearly, and document observations and/or concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hotel and resort location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and service-related requests, and escalate as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of guest areas, back-of-house spaces, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Control access points by verifying credentials, monitoring entrances and exits, and directing guests and vendors to the appropriate locations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems, and report abnormal conditions or maintenance concerns through the established channels.
  • Provide visible presence in lobby, pool, beach, dining, and event areas as assigned, offering assistance and de-escalation support when issues arise.
  • Complete detailed reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, including documentation of lost and found or property damage when applicable.
  • Coordinate with hotel staff, engineering, and local emergency services when required, following post orders and site procedures.
  • Enforce site rules and policies in a respectful manner, including addressing loitering, unauthorized access, and disruptive behavior.
  • Support special events and group functions with perimeter checks, crowd guidance, and guest service as directed by post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
