Description Role Overview Contract role supporting the Data Platform team supports large multi-tenant Airflow Deployment with over 8k pipelines This role is supporting more tenured engineers with operational tasks supporting cross functional teams including infrastructure, AWS cloud, database, and data engineering teams. Work primarily covers operations-heavy responsibilities early on, eventually transitioning to more development-oriented tasks once fully onboarded. Key Responsibilities Manage and support the enterprise Airflow platform Debugging and troubleshooting ETL pipelines. Platform operations, scripting, automation. Handling Slack channel requests ("Niagara - Platform"), including: oUser support oDocumentation chatbot gaps oTasks automation Supporting the company's risk calculation business processes. Maintaining and scaling the large-scale Airflow environment. Improving platform tooling and abstractions for ETL (JSON/YAML-based pipeline creation). Building automations to reduce manual effort and fill gaps that the chatbot can't handle. Platform stabilization, operations, and migration support moving from Oracle to Snowflake. Workflow Orchestration: Apache Airflow (core layer). Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (primary cloud), Kubernetes knowledge helpful, open to other clouds including GCP and Azure. Database / Migrations: Oracle on-prem Snowflake. Monitoring: Datadog for alerting and telemetry. General Infra Knowledge: Understand networking, operations, DevOps concepts.
