Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Athletic Department is a vital part of student life and the educational process at Elizabeth City State University. It provides a well rounded schedule of college athletic competition designed to encourage participation by the student body. The department encourages physical fitness and the development of physical skills and emotional control.
Description of Work
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will assist the Head Coach in all facets of operating the Men's Basketball Program.
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position
Possess knowledge of CIAA/ NCAA and University policies and procedures.

Possess knowledge of specific sport's concepts/strategies.

Possess knowledge of physical conditioning techniques and weight training.

Possess knowledge of basic statistics.

Possess the ability to recruit quality student athletes.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Possess leadership and motivational skills.
Minimum Training and Experience
Possess a Bachelor's degree with at least one year coaching experience in a collegiate environment or a minimum of 2 years at the high school level.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
