Job Description

Kearney and Company is looking for a DAF FIAR Support Senior Analyst to join our growing team! This individual will serve as a senior contributor responsible for leading either auditremediation activities or key financialreporting functions, depending on organizational need. In the auditremediation track, the Senior Analyst will analyze audit findings, validate correctiveaction plans, identify rootcause issues, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all remediation steps are fully implemented and properly documented. In the financialreporting track, the Senior Analyst will develop sections of the Agency Financial Report (AFR), support other federal financialreporting requirements, and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial statements and disclosures. Across both tracks, this individual will prepare detailed reports, monitors progress, and provides guidance to junior staff to strengthen internal controls and improve overall financialmanagement performance.

Additional Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with government POCs to perform audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies
  • Execute the day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direction of the Team Lead
  • Communicate the status of project-related tasks to Team Lead
  • Demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers)
  • Understand the end-to-end business processes of the Department of the Navy (DON) and applying relevant GAAP

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum 2.5 years of progressive, relevant experience
  • Active Secret Clearance at minimum required
  • Experience working with DoD clients
  • Experience in DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, or audit readiness
  • Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, VA and or Metro DC client sites up to 5 days a week
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Working Capital Funds or Department of Air Force clients
  • CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certification Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Information Systems Auditor, or other professional certification

The expected salary range for this position is between $69,000 and $105,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
