As a Security Officer - Armed Government Rover Patrol in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location with a fast-paced, medical-related environment. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter incidents, respond to alarms and calls for service, and document security-related activity with clear, professional communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Carry an approved firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies while maintaining a professional presence.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Control access by checking identification, validating authorization, and directing visitors and vendors to designated entry points and/or sign-in processes.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems, and respond to activations by assessing conditions and requesting additional resources as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing clear verbal commands and separating involved parties when appropriate.
• Coordinate with site management and local law enforcement and/or emergency services during incidents, providing timely updates and maintaining scene control until relieved.
• Complete detailed reports for incidents, patrol activities, and unusual observations, and promptly communicate hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy violations through the chain of command.
• Assist with crowd management and traffic control during high-activity periods, deliveries, and special events, helping to maintain orderly movement through entrances, lobbies, and parking areas.
• Support evacuations, lockdowns, and other emergency procedures by following post orders, providing directions to occupants, and documenting actions taken.

Minimum Requirements:

• - Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
• - Have 2+ years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• - Have 5+ years of security experience.
• - Customer service experience is preferred.
• - Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• - Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
