As a Security Officer - Tech Dispatch Center in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Dispatch Officer at a high-tech, fast-paced location where you will support daily operations by monitoring systems, coordinating responses, managing access control activity, and documenting security-related events. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to clients, contractors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Operate the dispatch post by monitoring alarms, CCTV systems, and/or other electronic monitoring platforms; receive calls for service and route requests to on-site personnel per site procedures.
- Coordinate communications using radio, phone, and/or other dispatch tools; relay clear instructions and updates to officers, site contacts, and/or responding public services as needed.
- Create and maintain accurate incident reports, dispatch logs, key and badge activity records, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including triaging events, gathering details, and coordinating next steps with site leadership.
- Support access control activities by verifying authorization, checking identification and/or credentials, issuing temporary badges as directed, and documenting entries and exits per site policy.
- Monitor for unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access, tailgating, and/or misuse of restricted areas by communicating observations and escalating concerns according to procedure.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter routes when assigned, checking doors, gates, loading areas, and critical equipment spaces for irregularities.
- Assist with contractor and delivery coordination by directing vehicles and/or personnel to approved locations, confirming work authorizations when required, and documenting arrivals and departures.
- Participate in drills and response activities such as fire, medical, and/or severe weather events, and support post orders, shift briefings, and turnover communication to maintain continuity.
Minimum Requirements: - Have 1+ years of security experience.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid is preferred.
- Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
- Customer Service Experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
