As a Security Officer - flex Campus Reception in Saint Louis, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. You will monitor access, manage visitor check-in, answer calls, document incidents, and respond to alarms and security-related concerns using on-site systems. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific policies and security-related procedures at the front desk.
  • Control access to the location by greeting entrants, verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor and vendor logs.
  • Answer telephones, monitor incoming communications, and route calls, requests, and notifications to the appropriate department and/or responder.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as cameras, access control, intercoms, and alarm panels, and document noteworthy activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calling for assistance and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Support emergency response activities by following established protocols for fire alarms, medical events, severe weather, and other campus-related incidents.
  • Maintain accurate shift documentation including incident reports, activity logs, and follow-up notes using required reporting tools.
  • Assist with key and badge control processes, including tracking issuance, returns, and discrepancies per site procedures.
  • Provide directions and general information to visitors while helping to maintain orderly lobby traffic and proper entry procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with campus partners and/or local responders during routine operations and incident response to support timely resolution.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
