The Director of Financial Management Systems is responsible for the organization's financial systems and technology infrastructure, ensuring that the financial systems are efficient, reliable, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals. The Director is responsible for implementation, maintenance and ongoing development of key financial management and analytics systems. Includes accountability for existing systems and identifying, acquiring and implementing new systems to support the healthcare system. These systems support the key business processes of the finance department in its role to provide reporting, planning, continuous forecasting, cost accounting and decision support to the overall organization in an agile, iterative, timely and accurate platform. Champions adoption of emerging technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Develops and executes multi-year financial systems strategy aligned with enterprise objectives and growth initiatives; sets annual goals, and performance metrics for Financial Management Systems function. Reviews and approves annual work plans developed by managers.
- Oversees the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of financial systems, ensuring they meet the organization's requirements. Manages financial data integrity, accuracy, and security across all financial systems and establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
- Assigns and reviews annual goals for the division, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops leaders. Evaluates performance of leaders, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; hires and fires leaders. Reviews and approves resource plans for function(s). Reviews and approves changes to internal processes; identifies and implements process improvements. Reviews and approves reporting standards; handles operational and customer service escalations for the division. Serves as a champion of enterprise-wide culture, influencing culture change to support operational objectives.
- Participates in leadership activities for the operation, contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates functional performance. Reviews and approves changes to internal processes; identifies and implements process improvements. Reviews and approves service standards established by leaders; handles operational and customer service escalations for the division. Serves as a champion of enterprise-wide culture, influencing culture change to support operational objectives.
- Ensures that financial reporting requirements are met and that the systems produce accurate and timely financial reports. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards in all financial system activities.
- Manages relationships and contracts with external vendors and service providers related to financial systems.
- Implements and maintains security measures to protect financial data. Identify and mitigate risks associated with financial systems, ensuring business continuity and develop disaster recovery plans for financial systems.
- Leads large-scale, cross-functional projects that modernize financial systems and processes; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
- Leads multiple strategic technology initiatives in conjunction with functional finance or business owners to assist with organizational financial strategies.
- Manages communications to the enterprise on strategy, projects and hot topics related to implementation and maintenance of financial technology systems. Maintains effective working relationships with peers in division, peers in other divisions, and senior leadership.
- Oversees the processing of financial information and maintaining financial records in the system. Ensures accurate generation of reports and conducts analyses on financial systems data.
- Ensures the accuracy of financial information entered into system(s) and administers testing practices for new features of the system as they are implemented to verify accuracy of financial procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, information technology, computer science or related field
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the management of multiple financial systems/technology, plus three (3) years of leadership experience.
Equivalency: A Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration may substitute for two of the required years of experience.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $154,766.75 to $257,944.60
