Overview

Reporting to the Site of Care National Director, the Strategic Account Lead, Site of Care will optimize access to Alnylam products through strategic engagement and contracting with key Alternate Site of Care accounts. This position requires a professional who can leverage their technical expertise and experience to drive growth, revenue and joint value creation for Alnylam and the customer through innovation for patients and health care providers.

A key component of this role is the ability to establish and deepen customer relationships through quality interactions at targeted strategic accounts. As such, extensive knowledge of 'buy and bill' products and prior experience with high-touch, specialty products is essential.

The successful candidate must be passionate about science and deeply motivated by the quest of delivering value to patients with the long-term success of the company in mind. They will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to execute strategic imperatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the comprehensive account strategy for key accounts to bring the best of Alnylam to the customer and to maximize profitability, revenue growth and market share for Alnylam
  • Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to identify and prioritize business opportunities and potential risk across the accounts by applying relevant frameworks and analytical methods
  • Work with the National Strategic Account Director and provide insights that inform strategies, program objectives and KPIs for target accounts that are aligned with organizational and customer priorities
  • Anticipate and communicate likely or transpiring market and customer developments, identify third party influence factors and shape the account engagement strategy accordingly
  • Create and foster strong relationships and perception of Alnylam as a strategic partner with senior business stakeholders (C- and D-Suite) in target accounts, including PE-backed groups, to create mutual value, support access and deliver on strategic goals for Alnylam's products across the company portfolio
  • Ensure consistent, best-in-class site of care strategic account management practices across all customer engagements
  • Negotiate, manage and pull-through agreements that incorporate solutions to strengthen partnerships between Alnylam and strategic accounts
  • Collaborate with Commercial Leadership (Sales, Marketing, market Access, Distribution and Operations) colleagues to ensure adequate Voice of the Customer in addition to own insights to influence strategic planning across stakeholders that encourages innovation and improves service delivery
  • Provide clear engagement direction to other field teams as they work with strategic accounts
  • Manage the ongoing contractual agreements and relationships with strategic accounts to strengthen partnerships and unlock new business opportunities
  • Oversee the execution of quarterly business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and long-term roadmap development with key accounts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, emphasis in business management; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' of experience in the life sciences environment
  • Minimum 5 years' previous account management experience with health systems or alternate sites of care C- and D-Suite or payors
  • High level of confidence, exceptional written and oral communication skills and executive presence required to engage with a C-Suite audience
  • Strong knowledge of the US payer landscape, value-based care and outcome-based models
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully mobilize cross-functional partners, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed by leading without direct authority
  • Deep understanding of both medical benefit and pharmacy benefit
  • Strong analytical skills, able to synthesize multi-source information for strategic planning and ability to think critically, challenge conclusions and underlying assumptions
  • Self-starter who is enthusiastic about rare disease and Alnylam's core values: fiercely innovative, open culture, purposeful urgency, passion for excellence, and commitment to people
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Should live near a mid-sized to major airport

U.S. Pay Range

$204,000.00 - $276,000.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
