It's an exciting time to join our team in New Richmond, WI and we're hiring for a Staff Accountant position. We are seeking a Staff Accountant with deep expertise in General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Credit Extension, Multi-State Payroll (ADP), and General Ledger Account Reconciliations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position is fulltime onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable & Collections
    • Manage end-to-end AR processes, including invoicing, RMAs, cash application, and collections.
    • Independently resolves issues using GAAP.
    • Assess and propose credit extensions based on established policies.
    • Monitor aging reports to proactively resolve outstanding balances and implement strategies to reduce delinquency and improve DSO metrics.
    • Partner with Sales and Sales Support to resolve open issues
  • Payroll Administration
    • Process multi-state payroll using ADP, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
    • Strong understanding of the payroll journal entry, balance sheet & P&L impacts with ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
    • Partner with HR to ensure employee compensation, benefits, and tax withholdings are correctly administered.
    • Work directly with state and federal agencies on payroll tax related matters.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Stay current on tax law changes and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliations
    • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
    • Ensure the accuracy of journal entries and financial statements.
    • Support audit preparation and respond to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with operations, HR, and finance teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
    • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on AR, payroll, and tax matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on general accounting, AR, payroll, and tax.
  • Proficiency in ADP payroll systems and ERP platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and multi-state compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
