As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll serve as a trusted technical resource and project leader-guiding investigations, shaping design recommendations, and delivering high-quality consulting services across a wide range of project types. What You'll Lead & Deliver In this role, you will:
Lead and oversee field investigations, ensuring technical accuracy and highquality data collection. Perform and guide complex engineering analyses and calculations, applying advanced technical judgment. Develop expert recommendations, plans, and specifications that inform design and construction decisions. Conduct and review construction observation and inspections, ensuring compliance with design intent. Prepare, review, and refine technical reports, serving as a key voice for clients and project teams.
You'll work across diverse sectors-including transportation, public works, commercial development, communications, energy, and industrial markets-broadening your exposure and strengthening your impact across multiple industries.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrating safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects. Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices. Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery. Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies. Senior level engineering professional providing technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects. Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of moderate scope. Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements. Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients; provides technical review of reports. Lead technical training and make informed decisions based upon state of the art technology issues. Provide leadership of marketing, sales and business development. Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects. Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological or Geo Engineering. Minimum 8-11 years' experience. Master's degree in Engineering preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Professional Engineer (PE) registration. Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
Preferred Certification:
The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
