Job Description




As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrol Driver in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer supporting a leading tech environment. You will conduct routine patrols across buildings and grounds, maintain a visible presence that helps reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and service calls with clear communication and customer-focused support. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout offices, labs, data rooms, parking areas, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter, with working conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying credentials, directing visitors to proper check-in, and documenting access issues per site policy.
  • Operate security-related systems such as access control, CCTV, and alarm panels, reporting irregular activity and following post orders for response.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation in a timely manner using required tools and formats.
  • Assist with visitor management by confirming appointments, issuing temporary badges per site policy, and communicating with hosts and/or reception as needed.
  • Support protection of property and assets by observing for suspicious activity, unsecured doors, tailgating, and other policy violations, then taking appropriate action consistent with post orders.
  • Coordinate with Allied Universal leadership, client contacts, and/or local responders during alarms, medical events, fire-related conditions, and other urgent situations.
  • Maintain a professional presence at all times, providing directions, answering questions, and helping resolve customer service concerns while adhering to confidentiality expectations common in technology locations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
