How you will make an impact

The Senior Manager, Production Planner develops, maintains, and executes production schedules to ensure on time delivery of manufactured goods while meeting quality, regulatory, and cost objectives. This role collaborates with the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Material Management, Quality, Partner PM's and Engineering teams to ensure complete cross functional alignment of expectations.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Create and manage detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints, ensuring schedules remain current and accurate, while keeping all stakeholders informed.

  • Adjust plans proactively to address changes in demand, material availability, or production issues.

  • Coordinate activities with respect to scheduling and tracking sampling, testing, and release of raw materials, drug product, and finished packaged product to ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing schedule and production forecast requirements.

  • Ensure raw materials and components are available to meet production requirements, collaborating with procurement and suppliers to resolve shortages or delays.

  • Partner with Supply Chain and Material management to optimize inventory investment ensuring that materials are purchased in efficient quantities that minimize COGS.

  • Analyze production capacity and recommend adjustments to meet customer delivery commitments.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing leadership to optimize labor and equipment utilization.

  • Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems in compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Support audits and provide documentation, as needed.

  • Develop and maintain metrics related to inventory planning and adherence to production schedules and provide regular updates on production status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and prepare reports on schedule adherence, inventory levels, and capacity utilization.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field with 12+ years of production planning experience, preferably in medical device or regulated manufacturing environment (An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered).

  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite (Oracle), SAP, or similar).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP requirements.

  • Preferred Qualifications: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification; Experience with demand planning and S&OP processes; Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

The most likely base pay range for this position is $124K - $173K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
