Job Description




As a Security Officer Flex Federal Patrol in Talladega, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, use computer and/or tablet tools as needed, and communicate clearly with site contacts and/or responders while delivering strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and communication systems; report irregularities and coordinate response using radio and/or phone communications.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, and medical emergencies, and request additional assistance as needed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Perform interior and exterior checks for unsecured doors, damaged property, and policy violations, and notify site contacts of conditions requiring attention.
  • Provide escort duties for authorized personnel, visitors, and/or contractors as directed by post orders.
  • Support controlled movement of people and vehicles in restricted areas by following post orders, maintaining situational awareness, and communicating observed issues to site leadership.
  • Participate in briefings, comply with licensing and training requirements, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while on post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Have CPR certification preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
