As a Security Officer - flex Cargo Screener in Bossier City, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support daily operations by controlling access, screening people and items, verifying credentials, and documenting security-related activity. You will remain visible at key entry points, communicate clearly with drivers and team members, and respond to concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, contractors, and visitors entering controlled areas using established screening protocols and equipment, documenting exceptions and reporting concerns.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and directing traffic flow for inbound and outbound personnel.
  • Conduct inspections of bags, packages, and parcels as required by post orders, and coordinate with site leadership when prohibited or suspicious items are identified.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems when assigned, and report irregular activity following site escalation procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports for screening activity, visitor processing, incidents, and/or unusual conditions in accordance with site requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, yard, and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Assist with queue management during peak shift changes and shipping and/or receiving surges, providing clear directions and maintaining orderly processing.
  • Support loading dock and gate operations by observing trailer moves, checking seals when assigned, and reporting discrepancies per site instructions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
