CAS is currently seeking a Corporate Counsel. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Summary:

The Corporate Counsel provides business and legal guidance and risk analysis to all CAS functional areas. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial agreements, providing legal support to a global Sales team, collaborating with cross-divisional teams and management to plan and execute strategic business initiatives and maintaining strong relationships with management, project teams, and peers across CAS. This role requires a focus on timeliness, continuous communication with stakeholders, a positive customer experience and an aim to find a win-win solution to move business initiatives forward.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Regular attendance at your work location on the Columbus campus is a requirement of this role
  • Negotiate a variety of domestic and international SaaS licensing, collaboration and partnership agreements, IP acquisition and distribution agreements, software and hardware agreements, confidentiality agreements, contractor and agent agreements, contest and sweepstakes rules, RFP and other general business contracts
  • Evaluate the risks and benefits associated with the development, procurement, and use of artificial intelligence technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams and management to plan and execute strategic business initiatives
  • Provide business and legal guidance and risk analysis to CAS functional areas including, but not limited to, Technology, Product Development, Content Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance and Facilities
  • Support a global Sales team with a customer base spanning across the Americas, EMEA and APAC
  • Maintain strong relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications



  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience; prior in-house experience preferred but not required
  • Experience advising and counseling clients and drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Experience drafting and negotiating information technology and IP licensing agreements is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems is a plus
  • Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate while balancing legal considerations and business goals
  • Detail oriented, with a practical approach to solving complex legal problems
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues at various levels of the organization in a plain and simple manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering results that meet or exceed expectations
  • Enthusiasm for learning with a proven ability to master new areas of law and skills quickly and independently
