Overview
This position provides Technical Project Management for the Strategic Weapons System (SWS) for COLUMBIA class construction, test, and integration of SWS/SWSS equipment in Groton, CT. Responsibilities include:
Build, Maintain, and refine SWS/SWSS and other projects schedules to support company objectives and key events.
- Optimize the ARTEMIS SWS/SWSS Build and Test activities to enable efficient execution to achieve schedule, cost, progress, and work order attainment.
- Provide technical support for Work Order development to optimize excitability by ensuring proper SWS/SWSS installation, design, and test requirements are met.
- Ensure Construction and Test Readiness in all areas of GDEB to include but not limited to operations, planning, program office, and engineering personnel.
- Align and expedite SWS/SWSS problem resolutions to support ship certification and reduce schedule impact of installation and test activities.
- Interface with internal and external senior leadership regarding scheduling and performance of work in areas assigned.
- Identify area of construction, installation, and test for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Management (Business, Project, Operations)
- 7+ years of SWS and/or submarine construction, test experience, and operations experience (or combination thereof)
- Ability to read system diagrams and similar engineering drawings
- Work travel will be required
Preferred:
- 5+ years of training and curriculum development
- 3+ years of modular construction and ship fitting
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Project Management Experience
- Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
Skills
- Microsoft Project Experience
- System engineering capabilities
- Project management principles
- Working knowledge of existing EB policies and procedures for operations and planning
- Good communication (written and oral) and organizational skills are required
- Candidate must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
