Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Salary: $52,000-$58,240 per year Shift: 1st; 2nd Hours: 5:00am-1:30pm; 1:30pm-10:00pm (Mon-Fri) QPS now is hiring for a company located in New Hampton, IA! Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. - Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. - Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. - Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. - Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. - Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. - Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. - Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. - Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. - Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. - Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. - Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. - Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. - Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Performs building, lighting, and plumping repairs for Facility as needed. - Other duties may be assigned. Maintenance Technician Requirements: - Candidates must have a proven track record of several years of solid work history. Please include details of your work experience on your resume. - Will read, write, speak and communicate efficiently in English with a wide variety of people and personalities. - Will perform basic mathematical functions. - Will keep legible and accurate records. - Will read follow verbal and written instructions and company-posted work and safety policies, procedures and programs. - Will follow all safety rules and regulations, perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, and wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety shoes and hearing protection in designated areas. - Will conform to all good manufacturing practices and be responsible for the cleanliness of immediate work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the facility. - Will have adequate vision ability (depth perception and field of vision) to move around the facility safely and distinguish colors. - Will work in all areas of the facility, both inside and outside, and on all floors in the facility. - Will walk/stand for the duration of up to a 12-hour shift and be able to twist, bend, stoop and reach. - Ability to push/pull/lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. - Will hear and talk on an ongoing basis in an atmosphere of moderate and loud noise. masoncity@qpsemployment.com IND098 About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
