Specifically, we are looking for aTS/SCI cleared Configuration Engineer - SMEto support this mission atPope Army Airfield, NC. Responsibilities: As a Configuration Engineer - SME, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:
Provides leadership for configuration engineering functions within systems integration support, establishing overarching goals and strategic plans for delivering integrated C2ISR solutions.
- Leads activities to transition to modernize engineering practices, digital engineering frameworks, and emerging mission systems technologies
- Directs and controls the strategic design, development, and implementation of configuration architectures that enable streamlined technical integration strategies for complex, mission-critical infrastructure components.
- Possesses expert domain and technical knowledge in advanced configuration engineering and C2ISR systems integration, applying this to define and drive the technical roadmap for enhancing system interoperability, technological convergence, and mission effectiveness.
- Has overall responsibility for establishing and implementing innovative approaches to configuration that ensure continuous network reliability and mission-effective technological capabilities across all C2ISR integration efforts. Provides training on integrated C2ISR workflows, data flows, and cross-platform dependencies
- Engages in high-level client negotiations and interfaces with senior management regarding the strategic vision, capabilities, and resource allocation for advanced integration capabilities and configuration solutions.
- Utilizes expert domain knowledge and decision-making that has a critical impact on the overall project implementation, ensuring configurations achieve seamless integration and mission-focused technological innovation for all C2ISR capabilities.
- Directs and controls the methods and staffing for configuration engineering teams, ensuring delivery of high-impact, scalable, and resilient configurations that optimize integrated system performance and technological adaptability.
- Provides authoritative guidance on all integration support areas, including configuring components for Squadron Operations Centers, GHOCs, SATCOM Gateways, RGEPs, DDS Sites, ETDVS solutions, and pre-existing DISA Block 1, Block 2, and Block 3 infrastructure.
- Establishes and governs the architectural principles, tools, and platforms for all configuration engineering efforts, critically impacting the reliability, resilience, and operational effectiveness of integrated C2ISR systems.
- Shapes the future direction of C2ISR systems integration by pioneering new configuration technologies, research, and advanced deployment techniques, directly impacting mission success and future-state readiness.
- Utilize the following role specific tools: Configuration management databases (CMDB) with version control; automated configuration tracking systems (Ansible, Puppet, Chef); baseline management dashboards for hardware/software assets; compliance audit checklists for DoD/FAR/DFARS standards; SOP/QRC libraries for standardized configuration processes; lessons learned repositories for configuration control; variance and change impact analysis tools; stakeholder communication dashboards for configuration status visibility; automated testing suites for configuration validation; encryption and access control modules for secure configuration management; predictive analytics engines for configuration drift detection; documentation repositories for configuration items and release notes. ServiceNow and Jira for CMDB. GitLab, VMware Aria Automation and Orchestration, Jenkins, RedHat Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, Prometheus, HAProxy, and Grafana for DevSecOps pipeline. SparxEA, Cameo, and Visio for modeling. Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware Tanzu for containerization / orchestration.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Configuration Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level: minimum of 12 years' experience with BS/BA OR 16 years without a degree OR 14 years with AS/AA or 10 years' experience with MS/MA, or 7 years' experience with a Ph.D.
- A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
- US citizenship is required
- DOD 8140 Compliance based on functional role for WRC: 441 Network Operations Specialist, Advanced Level / ability to obtain
Desired Qualifications:
- DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
Work Environment:
- Location:Pope Army Airfield, NC
- On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking
- Travel:May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
