Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Business Services Professional position.

This position serves in a multifaceted role and will provide professional oversight of event planning, events fundraising, procurement, logistical support, events budgetary tracking, and overall administrative support. The Business Services Professional exercises initiative and must understand and follow the complex operating policies, procedures, and systems of the university. This position also serves as the liaison to the Luminal section leadership team members, IBD team, faculty and staff working in the Division of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology and is responsible for providing logistical support to faculty and staff travel.

The purpose of this position is to provide a full-range of business, administrative and events support for the GI Division under the direction of the Business Services Manager. More specifically, this position will focus on credentialing and/or licensing support for providers in the division, recommending and constructing operational process maps for continuous quality improvement, and offering high-level administrative support to the Luminal section and leadership team. Duties also include, but are not limited to, developing strategies and processes which contribute to the success of the administrative team, providing policy guidance and interpretation, oversight of administrative processes, completing and delegating administrative duties in alignment with Division priorities, and ensure all administrative needs are met with excellence.

The individual in this position must remain current on policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all university, state, and federal guidelines. This individual will exercise a high-level of discretion with regards to all business matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary administrative lead for the Luminal/IBD Section and Leadership Team, overseeing daytoday operations, complex calendars, procedures, and faculty support.

  • Manage major Division conferences and events, including fullcycle planning, budgeting, fundraising, vendor coordination, marketing, and onsite execution.

  • Oversee provider credentialing and licensing for Luminal/IBD faculty across all GI sites, ensuring compliance, tracking status, and supporting renewals and applications.

  • Coordinate travel, reimbursements, procurement, and financial processes, ensuring adherence to CU policies and accurate documentation.

  • Lead marketing and communications efforts for the Division, including website updates, newsletters, social media content, and event promotion.

  • Develop and manage clinical/call schedules for Luminal providers and maintain alignment with related sites such as Highlands Ranch.

  • Support Division initiatives and programs, including the IBD Fellowship Program, recruitment/onboarding, faculty projects, and policy communication.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Senior Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • Two (2) years of professional experience providing administrative or business support in an academic, healthcare, hospital, medical, or University environment.

Principal Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • Three (3) years of professional experience providing administrative or business support in an academic, healthcare, hospital, medical, or University environment.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using CU Marketplace.

  • Experience with initial provider credentialing and recredentialing.

  • Experience with EPIC Health Record System.

  • Experience in call scheduling (Amion).

  • Experience providing administrative and/or business support in an academic, healthcare, hospital, medical, and/or University environment.

  • Experience with conference planning, marketing campaigns, and social media promotion.

  • Previous experience with procurement and purchasing.

  • Experience with marketing and communications.

  • Process improvement experience.

Conditions of Employment:

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Senior Level: $58,792 - $74,784

Principal Level: $67,611 - $86,001

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
