Responsibilities

  • As a Configuration Manager you will be working with developers, designers, program managers, product managers, supporting operations and maintenance of various VA applications and systems.
  • Drafting controls, policies, procedures, and processes based on CM Controls.
  • Assisting in translating compliance guidance and assessment results into plain English that is understandable and actionable.
  • Research and recommend improved CM processes and tools for use in the enterprise.
  • Provide support to project teams in configuring and base-lining configuration items.
  • Identify and track Configuration Items, and maintain technical baseline documentation.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes.
  • Maintain data quality, integrity and security of CM database.
  • Schedule audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
  • Develop security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items.
  • Work in a fast-paced team DevSecOps environment.
  • Understand CI/CD deployments.
  • Promote and deploying builds through non-production to production environments.
  • Understands configuration items and how to log changes to them.
  • Able to support and deploy to on-premises, AWS, and the MAG Cloud environments.
  • Support a multi-platform environment (Windows/.NET, Linux/Java, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a Configuration Management role, managing configurations for multiple software packages simultaneously.
  • Experience as a contributing member of an Agile Scrum team, communicating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions, ask intelligent questions, and engage critical thinking skills to complete the work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without missing deadlines or dropping assignments.
  • CMDB configuration experience is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience creating technical documentation and compliance reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and high commitment to quality.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experience as a contributing member of an Agile Scrum team, communicating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working on Federal programs that are of high priority, visibility, and public facing.
  • Experience with Agile delivery programs.
  • Must be able to work quickly with a high degree of accuracy with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision, act independently and exercise an expert level of decision-making capability.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to produce polished written products.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Access.
  • Possess strong attention to detail where the quality of products, services, and processes are a constant focus.
  • Passion for our customers demonstrated through professionalism and excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.
  • Previous Federal Government experience, preferably at the VA.
  • Understand the versioning of software releases.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific / technical discipline.
  • Additional 8 years' relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelor's degree (total of 18 years experience).
  • Knowledge or certified in any of NDIA, CMII, ITIL Configuration Management certifications desired.

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) clearance.

Location:

  • Remote, USA.

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $45,145 to $80,625.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
