Job Description:

We're looking for a full-time, Proposal Manager, to join the Day & Zimmermann team.

The Proposal Manager oversees the entire proposal process, acting as a project manager for customer responses such as RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and post-submittal requests. They collaborate with Business Development and Operations to develop strategies, identify key messaging, and lead the full proposal lifecycle, including writing, production, and customer follow-ups under strict deadlines. This high-visibility role at Day & Zimmermann requires strong project management, organizational, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of the company's services, markets, and processes.



This role is remote with some travel.

As the Proposal Manager, here's the work you'll do:

* Project Management Support - leads and manages the production of multiple - and often concurrent - complex, high-value proposals from start to finish. Acts as the RFP subject matter expert and clearly communicates customer requirements to the bid team. Manages a matrixed team, process workflow, tailors and develops content with subject matter experts, coordinates and manages schedules, etc. to ensure on-time delivery of compliant, compelling, customer-focused proposals.
* Content Drafting, Review & Improvement - work with members of the pursuit team to draft and edit proposal content, maintain updated versions in the document management system (SharePoint based), and perform other desktop publishing, editing, and formatting tasks using Adobe Acrobat (PDF) and Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Write and update content in the Proposal team's boilerplate library and other reference materials and look for ways to improve the quality of our materials, tools, and processes.
* Coordination Activities - perform coordination and proposal administrative duties, including acknowledging receipt of bid documents, distributing bid information as needed, scheduling internal meetings, setting up collaborative workspace (SharePoint based), maintaining document version control, and updating opportunity records in Salesforce (CRM system).
* Miscellaneous Support - additional support to your supervisor or larger department projects as assigned.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

* Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks involving multiple groups of people while meeting deadlines under pressure.
* Critical thinker who can research, develop, and present complex data or information clearly and concisely.
* Strong team player who can work with individuals at various levels of the company to gather information, incorporate feedback, and pitch in where needed to deliver results.
* Strong capability in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint (or other collaborative content management system) and Salesforce (or similar CRM system). Familiarity with Adobe products is preferred, not required.

And if you have these qualifications:

* Associates Degree Required - Bachelor's preferred
* 6+ years experience writing, proofreading, editing, working with technical or engineering teams/individuals, experience in energy or industrial markets.
* 6+ years experience service-oriented sales, the AEC or energy industry, or in a B2B environment preferred.
* Great attitude and team player.
* Successful completion of drug and background screening process.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $91,600 - $137,400. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
