This position is located at Roi Namur, Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance for the ALCOR and MMW radar antenna electro-mechanical systems and structural members.
  • Observe, test, and evaluate complex radar mechanical systems to diagnose and repair component failures.
  • Perform maintenance, calibration, testing and modification of the antenna systems.
  • Participate with fellow engineers on the design and implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects involving mechanical, servos, and antenna subsystems.
  • Provide design inputs for equipment modifications and repairs.
  • Climb and work at moderate heights.
  • Maintain current spare parts inventory and procures parts as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance performed.
  • Support day-to-day operations to meet radar mission requirements.
  • Perform occasional shift work to support operational tasking.
  • Adhere to Company safety policies, procedures and program.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and design.
  • Ability to effectively perform maintenance, repairs and replacement of complex mechanical systems, gear boxes, brake systems and/or electric motors/generators.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of standard mechanical/electrical functions of equipment. including but not limited to pumps, motors, and structural components.
  • Understanding of the operation and maintenance of fluid systems to include water cooling, pressured gas and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with using Graphic User Interfaces (GUIs) to operate process controllers, such as - Allen-Bradley or similar process controller.
  • General computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability to direct craftsmen/technicians.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.

Required Experience

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Five or more years of mechanical field support experience, working on large electro-mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance and repairs.
  • DoD test range systems O&M experience is desirable.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • Willingness and physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Certification as a tower climber and/or rescue climber or the willingness and physical ability to obtain these certifications.
