We are looking for aPrincipal Software Engineerto join Copilot Studio's AI Knowledge team, which is responsible for leveraging and optimizing generative AI models to provide grounding data from a variety of public and enterprise data sources including M365 data, CRM data, public websites, files, databases, and more. Our knowledge capabilities power millions of both conversational and autonomous agents every day as part of the Copilot Studio service, andallowsagents to integrate with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Teams, IVR/voice products, power agents on the web, and much more. With the rapid pace of AI innovation, our team is uniquely positioned within Microsoft and the industry to analyze, experiment with, andproductizenew AI capabilities. As a Principal Software Engineer, your role will be to provide technical leadership for a wide variety of AI workstreams, build features with high quality and maintainability alongside teams of other engineers,operateour AI services, and coach junior engineers on the team. You will work across Microsoft to help teams build agents, and you will work with customers todeterminehow Copilot Studio and agents fit into their AI strategies. Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
