Job Summary:

This position is responsible to ensure we meet the customers parts need by date. They will utilize both physical tracking and system investigation to determine order status and work with others, from various areas of the business, to keep appropriate priority and levels of urgency on these orders.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Economically source parts, communicate orders that miss need by dates, update DBS estimated shipping dates, and respond to requests from parts and service departments.
  • Manage problematic orders and coordinate with Caterpillar supply chain personnel to improve estimated shipping dates.
  • Escalate machine down orders, process direct ship orders and hot shot orders as requested.
  • Proactively engage with caterpillar on policy changes and best practices. Identify gaps in the backorder process, participate in backorder training and perform other task as requested.

Requirements
Qualifications:


  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 2 years of purchasing or logistics experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency and follow up required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other business software applications is required.
  • Individual should possess strong analytical, quantitative and qualitative skills with emphasis in data presentation using tables, matrix, excel or charts
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with a common sense and practical solutions orientation are required
  • Must be able to multitask and be tolerable of many interruptions throughout the workday
  • Ability to read, talk, write and hear


Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
