This position is responsible for increased sales and profit of Krylon Industrial Aerosols and Paints, Sprayon products and other National Branded products to existing distributor customers in the Industrial M.R.O, Construction, Safety and Specialty distribution markets as well as providing new opportunities within a defined territory.

Although subject to change based upon business needs, this territory currently includes: New York, New Jersey and Delaware.

Additional Info:

Travel is up to 65% and overnight travel is required.

The candidate must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, one of the following territories: Newark, NJ; Paterson, NJ; Buffalo, NY; Newburgh, NY; Syracuse, NY; or Rochester, NY.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

The Sales Representative position will also have responsibility for developing End User awareness to drive sales and calling on all account locations throughout a defined region. The Sales Representative will work with the Strategic Account Team to implement Buying Group programs to promote End User awareness to grow Tier 2 and 3 Strategic Accounts.

This person will also work the Regional Sales Manager, Marketing Team, Technical, and Product Planning to effectively develop and implement an Annual Growth Plan that will demonstrate a clear path for current and long term of growth of our Industrial product lines.

  • Cultivate leads, qualify prospects, schedule, and perform sales calls with customers.
  • Effectively implement the Sales Cycle, including Pre-Call Planning.
  • Enter all sales call information into internal sales call reporting application (Salesforce).

Minimum Requirements

* Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1, etc.)
* Must have High school diploma or GED
* Must have a valid unrestricted driver's license
* Must have at least 3 years prior experience in Outside Sales and / or Account Management
* Must be willing to travel as required for this position
* Must have at least one (1) year of experience using Customer Relationship Management ("CRM") system
* Must have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook)
* If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a "meets expectations" (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal

Preferred Qualifications

* Have a bachelor's degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing
* Have prior work experience conducting data or financial analysis
* Have prior experience preparing and delivering presentations
* Have experience with and knowledge of Sherwin-Williams customers within the Industrial Distribution Industry
* Have prior work experience conducting training and/or developing training materials
