The Per Diem Pharmacist will have the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise by evaluating and interpreting medication orders and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards. You will play a critical role in identifying, preventing, and resolving medication-related issues to ensure safe, effective, and individualized patient care. Through the application of evidence-based protocols, you will promote clinically sound and cost-effective drug therapy, contributing to improved patient outcomes and advancing the standard of pharmaceutical care.

Pharmacy Location: Cypress Creek Hospital in Houston, TX

Schedule: Provides weekend, holiday, and PTO coverage for staff pharmacists. Weekend shifts are 8:00 AM-2:30 PM, weekdays 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, and holidays 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process and verify medication orders, including controlled substances, ensuring safe and timely delivery
  • Provide clinical guidance on drug therapy and collaborate with healthcare teams
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and accreditation standards
  • Oversee pharmacy operations, including inventory control and technician supervision

About the Facility: Cypress Creek Hospital in Houston, Texas, is a 128-bed behavioral health facility providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adolescents and adults. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient programs for mental health and substance use disorders, supported by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, and therapists. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Cypress Creek is dedicated to improving lives through personalized treatment and community-focused support.

Required Qualifications:

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
  • Active Texas state pharmacist license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some hospital experience
  • Knowledge of medication regimens and dosing for diverse patient populations, including age-specific considerations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
