Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Utilities Mobile Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol utility locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and provide a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with staff and visitors, and respond to incidents as needed. This is an armed and driving post, offering the opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for utility locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
  • Monitor for and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues within the utility location.
  • Maintain awareness of all site-specific procedures and protocols, especially those related to armed patrol responsibilities.
  • Interact professionally with employees, contractors, and visitors while upholding Allied Universal standards.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities for Allied Universal management.
  • Support emergency response efforts as required, including coordinating with local authorities and following utility-specific guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
