Overview Senior Database Engineer Location: On-Site at Customer Location (Annapolis Junction, MD) Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Poly Are you ready to take your database engineering expertise to the next level and support mission-critical operations? BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join our team and assist in meeting the needs of our government customer. In this role, you'll work onsite at the assigned customer location, ensuring optimized database performance and delivering solutions that directly impact national security. What you will do Optimize Performance: Monitor databases and related systems to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively. Support Agile Development: Participate in agile activities, including release planning, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to incorporate lessons learned into engineering processes. Model Data: Design local schemas, tables, data types, indexes, procedures, and functions to support mission needs. Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with developers throughout the application development lifecycle to build features that deliver value to our customers. What you need to have Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of database experience. Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly (required). Technical Expertise: Proficiency in database technologies such as MongoDB or MariaDB, including: Deployment and management of the database itself. Debugging and resolving optimization issues. Scaling databases to meet performance demands. Experience with Django or Flask frameworks. Familiarity with REST endpoints and microservices. What we'd like you to have Swagger for API documentation. Cloud experience with AWS, C2S, or other platforms. Containerization tools like Docker. Proficiency with IDEs such as Visual Studio Code or similar. JSON and/or XML serialization. Experience with Jira and Confluence for project management. Git version control for collaborative development. Agile development methodologies.
