Summary of Job Duties:The UACCM Adult Education Site Coordinator/Teacher works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for serving as the building supervisor and lead teacher. This full-time position is assigned to the UACCM Adult Education facility in downtown Conway. Evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
*Assist students with the completion of the Arkansas Adult Education Intake Form.
*Coordinate the enrollment and education process for underage students.
*Serve as an ADA Coordinator and submit requests for accommodations for students with learning disabilities.
*Serve as an Arkansas Adult Education approved Career Development Facilitator (CDF).
*Teach basic and advance academic skills/concepts in mathematics, science, language, reading, and social studies.
*Prepare students for the GED examination process.
*Maintain student files and all required documentation according to Arkansas Adult Education guidelines.
*Prepare written disciplinary warnings for students when necessary.
*Provide a variety of instructional deliveries including individualized instruction, small group instruction, and whole class instruction.
*Assist students with the development of digital literacy skills.
*Provide learning activities designed to enhance financial literacy skills.
*Collaborate with students to document long and short-term goals based upon identified career pathways.
*Provide students with progress reports and update student learning plans on a consistent basis.
*Participate in professional development training activities as required.
*Participate in staff meetings.
*Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The formal education equivalent of a Master's degree is required.
  • Possess a valid Arkansas Department of Education Educator' License. A full-time teacher that does not have a current certification in Adult Education must obtain an Adult Education endorsement within three (3) year of the date of his/her initial employment at a full-time teacher.

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous work experience in the field of Adult Education is preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising teachers is preferred.

  • Skilled at assisting students with the development of strategies to overcome barriers to success.
  • Able to establish a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of students.
  • Able to relate well to groups of students of different ages and/or ability levels.
  • Able to exhibit enthusiasm for the subject material to foster a love of learning in students.

Salary Information:

$55,000.00 to $60,000.00; commensurate with education and experience
