Grounded in EPIC's Cogito suite, this role emphasizes backend data configuration, transformation logic, and enabling scalable, high-quality data access for decision support within the Epic workflow. The ideal candidate excels at working across data platforms, translating business requirements into robust data assets, learning about and evaluating new solutions available from Epic and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and usability of data at the point of care. Duties & Responsibilities
Support and administer the Epic Cogito analytics environment, including Clarity, Caboodle, registries, and SlicerDicer. Install and configure datasets, SQL Server environments, and Cogito-related infrastructure in cloud and on-prem settings. and lead the testing and UAT of new solutions to drive meaningful analytics across City of Hope's clinical ecosystem. Engage in various phases of Epic build and administration workflows-from discovery through delivery-providing subject matter expertise on Epic capabilities and healthcare data best practices. Facilitate clear communication between clinical users, managing expectations, technical builds and translating complex technical details into accessible business language. Collaborate extensively with clinical leaders, app developers, IT professionals, and project managers to optimize data delivery and align solutions with institutional goals and compliance standards. Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to define, analyze, and document business needs and data requirements for Epic Cogito analytics solutions. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor's Degree; 3 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education. 3+ years of healthcare experience, 5+ years of related experience Epic certification on Cogito, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, and Cogito Tools Administration (within 1 year)
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's Degree 4+ years of healthcare experience, 6+ years of data experience Ability to think conceptually and analytically with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to adapt to changing business and technical needs Strong ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries. Experience with EPIC Clarity (relational database) and Caboodle (data warehouse) structures. Proficiency in tools such as Radar, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and Registries Understanding of Cogito Data Model and workflows across clinical and financial modules. Excellent communications, collaboration, time/project management, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills Skilled in testing, auditing, and troubleshooting data integrity and report accuracy. Familiarity with healthcare operations and clinical workflows within EPIC. Capacity to identify gaps between operational needs and data systems.
