As a Security Guard - Armed Government Facility in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. You will engage with the public, provide excellent customer service, and respond to incidents as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while remaining professional at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verifying credentials and/or authorizations as required by site-specific protocols.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when necessary, following established procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness regarding surroundings and report any suspicious activity or potential threats immediately.
  • Participate in site-specific training and maintain required certifications for armed security-related duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
