Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Full-Time in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a government setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents through visible presence and routine patrols. You will interact with the public, provide exceptional customer service, and respond to incidents as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter, which may include government facilities, transit areas, and associated property.
  • Monitor and report on unusual activity or potential security-related concerns to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access to restricted areas, verifying credentials of individuals entering secure locations as required by site protocols.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of daily activities, incidents, and any security-related events encountered during patrols.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific policies regarding the handling and use of firearms while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
