Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols and interact with the public, delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor for unusual activity and report any security-related issues or hazards observed during patrols.
  • Communicate with local authorities and/or Allied Universal management in the event of emergencies or incidents.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in daily reports and logs as required by site-specific protocols.
  • Follow all procedures for the handling and use of firearms in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
