Position Summary

The KeyNavigator team at KeyBank is seeking a skilled and adaptable DevOps Engineer to support and optimize our diverse infrastructure stacks across cloud and on-prem environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in automation, CI/CD, and full-stack troubleshooting - from front-end performance to backend systems and infrastructure. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure deployments across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management

    • Collaborate with Infrastructure teams on platform architecture and integrating continuous improvement optimizations.

    • Maintain and enhance existing Infrastructure as Code solutions.

    • Monitor application performance and collaborate with Support Team on opportunities.

    • Maintain availability of lower environments supporting Development Teams.

  • CI/CD & Automation:

    • Maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab.

    • Automate deployment, configuration, and scaling processes across environments.

    • Ensure application is highly available and resilient.

  • Troubleshooting & Support:

    • Perform full-stack diagnostics - from front-end issues to backend services and infrastructure.

    • Collaborate with Development, QA, and Support Teams to resolve incidents and improve system reliability and availability.

    • Participate in root-cause analysis activities and implement long-term fixes.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Integrate security best practices into DevOps workflows.

    • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.

    • Address findings in a timely manner.

  • Collaboration & Documentation:

    • Work closely with developers, architects, and engineers to align infrastructure with application needs.

    • Document processes, configuration, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Infrastructure Engineering.

  • Experience with Java application deployment and support, including:

    • Containerized Java apps (Spring Boot, Quarkus, etc.).

    • IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) or similar environments.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell).

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code languages like Terraform.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Strong understanding of networking, system administration, and application performance monitoring.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies along with Kanban.

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Experience with change management planning and execution.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Kubernetes.

  • Experience with observability tools and log aggregation platforms.

  • Background in financial services or regulated industries.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
