Description
Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:
- Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personal to discuss quality related topics and resolve any quality issues as required
- Ensures that a high standard of knowledge, performance, training and safety are developed, exceeded, and maintained by all technicians which included them obtaining/ maintain the appropriate ODOT certifications for the work required
- Coordinates day-to-day technician activities as required and ensures the necessary required testing accomplished
- Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of all lab testing equipment
- Stays current with new technologies, research in progress, test, and any changes to agency specifications
- Maintain the appropriate certifications to do all QC manager's work required including those required by the technicians in case it is necessary to temporarily perform testing as needed
- Responsible for routinely reviewing test data which includes performing any trend and/or statistical analysis as required
- Proficient math skills (Algebra in particular), be analytical by nature, detail oriented, through at documenting, and problem solving
- Ensure all necessary contractual related correspondence, paperwork, and/ or test reports are distributed to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner
- Responsible for making any asphalt plant mixture related adjustments and create/adjust concrete mix designs as needed
- Occasionally conduct specifications reviews and provide comments on the more technical documents
- Make recommendations regarding new equipment needed and prepare budget and justification
- Other duties as directed by Vice President or General Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in supervisory role preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in construction materials industry, preferable with aggregates, concrete, asphalt testing, or project management or another relevant field
- Competency in Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Must have good interpersonal skills, ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful mature, flexible
- Good communications ability, both verbal and written
- Must have good facilitating and training skills
- Proven ability to maintain a positive attitude, perform work safely and have good leadership skills
- Must have current, valid Oregon driver's license (with endorsement if necessary), must be able to demonstrate proof of insurability during any period of employment
- Must have ability to continuously walk, stand, and use both hands well as lift, carry, climb, balance, reach stop, crouch and kneel
- Requires the ability to hear, see and use critical reasoning
